Chainlink fence installation Kitengela was completed by Orbixian Technologies for this perimeter in the Kitengela–Athi River area using a heavier-duty fencing configuration designed for increased boundary security.
The system combines 8ft gauge 12.5 galvanized chainlink mesh, 10ft angled precast concrete poles, reinforced strainers, 2.5mm HTS support wire and 450mm concertina razor wire installed along the top of the perimeter.
Unlike a basic chainlink boundary, this installation uses several structural and deterrent components together. The chainlink forms the primary physical barrier, the concrete posts and strainers provide structural support, HTS wires strengthen and tension the fence line, while concertina razor wire provides an additional high-security topping.
The main perimeter barrier uses 8ft-high gauge 12.5 galvanized chainlink wire with 80 × 80mm mesh openings.
The heavier gauge provides greater wire strength than lighter chainlink specifications, making it suitable for sites where the objective goes beyond simple boundary demarcation.
At eight feet high, the fence also creates a substantial physical barrier while retaining visibility across the property.
This makes the system suitable for applications such as commercial compounds, construction and development sites, industrial properties, warehouses, institutions and larger private properties.
The chainlink is supported using 10ft precast concrete poles with angled tops.
The angled configuration is particularly useful on this type of installation because it provides a structural position above the chainlink mesh for mounting the concertina security topping.
Precast concrete poles also offer strong resistance to outdoor exposure and eliminate problems such as termite attack associated with untreated timber.
Their strength becomes particularly important when supporting a tall chainlink fence that must remain under consistent tension.
A long chainlink perimeter cannot depend only on intermediate posts.
Strainers are used at strategic points to withstand the pulling forces created when the mesh and HTS wires are tensioned.
They are especially important around corners, changes in fence direction, termination points and other areas exposed to greater structural load.
Proper straining helps maintain a straight fence line and prevents the chainlink from gradually losing tension.
The project incorporates 2.5mm high-tensile-strength wire to reinforce and support the chainlink system.
HTS wires help distribute tension across the perimeter and provide additional structural support to the mesh.
The quality of a chainlink installation therefore depends on considerably more than the visible mesh itself. Posts, strainers, tension wires, connections and installation workmanship all contribute to the final strength of the perimeter.
One of the most significant security features on this project is the 450mm concertina razor wire installed above the chainlink fence.
Instead of using only straight strands of barbed wire, concertina forms a continuous coil above the fence line.
This provides a considerably more aggressive physical deterrent against attempts to climb over the perimeter.
The completed system therefore creates two major protection zones:
Primary barrier:
8ft heavy-duty galvanized chainlink fencing.
Upper deterrent:
450mm concertina razor wire.
This layered arrangement is particularly useful where perimeter security requirements are higher than those of an ordinary residential boundary.
A security fence performs best when its components are designed as one system rather than selected independently.
For this Kitengela–Athi River project, the combination of 8ft chainlink, heavy-gauge wire, concrete posts, strainers, HTS tensioning and concertina razor wire produces a fence designed for durability and stronger intrusion deterrence.
The open mesh still allows visibility through the perimeter, which can also support security guards, lighting and CCTV surveillance.
Where a property requires additional electronic protection, systems of this type can be further integrated with electric fencing, CCTV cameras, access-control gates or security lighting after an appropriate site assessment.
Orbixian Technologies supplies and installs chainlink security fencing for properties throughout Kitengela, Athi River, Kajiado, Machakos, Nairobi and other parts of Kenya.
Projects can be configured according to:
- required fence height
- chainlink gauge and mesh size
- overall perimeter length
- security level
- terrain and soil conditions
- concrete, steel or treated-post preference
- barbed-wire or razor-wire topping
- gate requirements
- electric fencing or CCTV requirements
For an accurate quotation, provide the site location, approximate perimeter length, preferred fence height and gate requirements, or arrange a site assessment.
